Proposed Law Aims to Strengthen Nigeria’s Rural Economy and Job Opportunities.

The House of Representatives is considering a bill seeking to promote sustainable rural development, reduce poverty, and enhance the livelihoods of Nigerians in agrarian communities.
The proposed legislation applies to all rural areas within the country’s territorial boundaries as classified by relevant demographic and economic criteria.
Sponsored by the member representing Esan Central/Esan West/Igueben Federal Constituency, Edo State, Marcus Onobun, the bill is awaiting a second reading on the floor of the Green Chamber.
It also shows the provision to guarantee wage employment for rural households that would make every employed adult household entitled to a daily wage of three thousand five hundred naira.

Nigeria Partners with EU and France to Boost Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.

The Federal Government, in partnership with the European Union and France, has signed a partnership agreement under the Global Gateway’s Manufacturing and Access to Vaccines, Medicines, and Health Technologies Initiative.

According to a statement issued by the EU, the partnership aims to advance Nigeria’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity and strengthen local health systems.

Additionally, the project will reinforce the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development as a regional reference centre for critical activities such as bioequivalence, stability studies, and quality control, fostering regional collaboration with Rwanda and Senegal.

Tinubu-Trump Meeting Set Amid Threats of US Action on Nigerian Terrorism.

The Presidency has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu will soon meet his United States (US) counterpart, Donald Trump in the coming days.
Daniel Bwala, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on policy communication, said the meeting will be centred around claims of a Christian genocide in Nigeria.
Bwala’s statement follows Trump’s recent remarks accusing the Nigerian government of ignoring attacks on Christians.
Trump had threatened military action against Nigeria to wipe out terrorists killing Christians in the country.
