Environmental Sanitation Is a Civic Duty, Waste Management Expert Tells Ibadan Residents
A waste management expert in Ibadan, Ajiboye Oluwatobi, has called on residents of the city to take individual responsibility for environmental sanitation, stressing that clean surroundings begin with personal commitment. In an interview with Dominion News, Oluwatobi decried the indiscriminate dumping of refuse, especially into drainage systems, describing the act as illegal, harmful, and avoidable. He stated that most cases of blocked drainage in the city result from careless waste disposal by members of the public. Oluwatobi, however, urged the public to adopt better waste management habits and view environmental sanitation as a shared civic duty necessary for public health and sustainable urban living.
