NIMC DENIES INVOLVEMENT IN SELING BVN AND NIN TO FINTECH FIRMS

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has strongly condemned reports about people allegedly selling personal data, including Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) and National Identity Numbers (NIN) to fintech companies.

In a statement issued by the Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, the Commission emphasized that it would not be held liable for the unauthorized sharing of personal data.

He also stated that NIMC wishes to clear that it will not be held responsible for any personal information shared by an individual either directly or through a proxy for the purpose of financial gain or inducement.
