MARKETERS WARN AS DANGOTE PLANS DIRECT FUEL SALES

The Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria (NOGASA) has raised concerns over the Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s plan to supply refined petroleum products directly to end-users, bypassing established distribution channels. The association warned that such a move could cause widespread disruption, long-term product shortages, and the collapse of existing supply networks across the country.

Speaking at the association’s Annual General Meeting, NOGASA National President, Bennett Korie, urged the refinery to suspend its direct distribution plans and engage in further dialogue with industry stakeholders. He emphasized the importance of learning from the failures of previously mismanaged refineries under the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

NOGASA also appealed to President Bola Tinubu to step in, arguing that Dangote Refinery alone lacks the capacity to manage nationwide distribution sustainably.
