TINUBU APPROVES ADENIYI’S TENURE EXTENSION AS CUSTOMS COMPTROLLER-GENERAL
President Bola Tinubu has approved a one-year extension of the tenure of Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adeniyi.
Originally set to retire on August 31st, 2025, Adeniyi will now remain in office until August 2026.
In a statement released by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the extension is aimed at allowing Adeniyi to consolidate ongoing reforms and see through key initiatives aligned with the administration’s agenda.
These reforms include the modernization of the Nigeria Customs Service, the implementation of the National Single Window Project, and the fulfillment of Nigeria’s commitments under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.
