Nigerian Army Kills Terrorists, Rescues Hostages, Foils Oil Theft

Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed scores of terrorists and arrested fifteen others in a series of coordinated operations across the country, as reported by a military source.

According to the source, the troops which recovered a large cache of high calibre weapons, ammunition, explosives, and illegally refined petroleum products revealed that in the Northwest zone, troops of seventeen Brigade in Katsina State and one Brigade Combat Team in Zamfara State rescued twelve kidnap victims from terrorist captivity.

The source reported a significant success against IPOB/ESN fighters in Imo State, highlighting successes against crude oil theft in the Niger Delta region, noting that troops intercepted and destroyed large volumes of illegally refined products, arresting two suspects with over two thousand five hundred litres of stolen petroleum products in Akwa Ibom and Rivers States.
