Tension in Oyo: APC Slams PDP-Led Government Over Unlawful N300bn Loan Approval

Hundreds of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State took to the streets to protest against the alleged intimidation of Hon. Ibrahim Shittu, who represents the Saki West State constituency.

Dominion news team earlier reported that the protest was in response to the unlawful approval of the three hundred billion naira loan request by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration in the state.

Our correspondent, Grace Aina, has more details.

The protest began at the Party Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, and concluded at Mokola Roundabout in the Ibadan North Local Government Area, where the protesters voiced their concerns over the increasing debt profile of the state and the intimidation of Assembly members.

Meanwhile, the State Chairman of the party, Olayide Abas, also expressed his disapproval of the rising debt profile associated with the current administration.

Recall that Hon. Shittu, criticized the approval of the three hundred billion naira loan by less than two-thirds of the assembly members, deeming it unconstitutional.
