Hon. Akintayo Defends Oyo Assembly Recess, Says “Budget Review Ongoing”

As the lawmakers in the Oyo State House of Assembly are currently on recess, a lawmaker and member of the house, Honourable Waheed Akintayo, has described the recess as a working recess, highlighting the different duties the house executes while on break.

Akintayo, who said this in an interview with Dominion News, stated that to ensure the house’s effectiveness, a budget appraisal was conducted to help identify the loopholes and fill up against 2026 budget allocations.

Recall that lawmakers in the Oyo State House of Assembly commenced six weeks working recess on August 1st and to end September 16th two thousand and twenty-five.
