Nigerian Army Debunks Claims of Bandit Attack on Kwara Base, Says No Weapons Stolen.
The Nigerian Army has strongly denied reports circulating online that armed bandits overran a military position in Obanla, Kwara State, and made away with weapons and ammunition.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Polycarp Okoye, Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the Two Division Nigerian Army, disclosed to journalists that troops of the 148 Battalion, currently involved in clearance operations across Kwara and Kogi States, have been recording significant successes.
The Army maintains that at no point was any of its positions overrun or weapons seized, dismissing the online report as an attempt to demoralize troops and mislead the public.
