One Dead, 26 Rescued as Two-Storey Building Collapses in Lagos.

Twenty-six persons have been rescued alive, and many others suffered several injuries, while an adult female body was recovered by the emergency responders who rushed to the venue of a collapsed two-storey building located at Oyingbo axis of Lagos state.

According to the preliminary report issued by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu, the incident, whose cause is yet to be ascertained, occurred late at night on Monday, trapping some residents under the rubble.

So far, twelve victims have been rescued alive, comprising six adult males, two adult females, others include two young boys, and four females.

Presently, ongoing operations are still being carried out by the emergency responders to ensure the prompt rescue of victims trapped under the collapsed building, while the rescued victims were administered first aid treatment and later sent to a nearby health institution.
