Oyo Government Urges Residents to Reuse Textiles for Environmental Protection

The Oyo State Government has formally handed over ninety hectares of land at Moniya, Ibadan, to the Federal Government for the proposed construction of an Inland Dry Port, after ‎Governor Seyi Makinde, presented the official documents to the ministry’s representatives.

‎Speaking Earlier at an event held in the conference room of the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, represented by his Deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal, expressed optimism that the proposed Inland Dry Port project would soon become a reality and boost industrialization as well as the agricultural value chain in the state.

‎Earlier in his welcome address, the Oyo State Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, lauded the partnership, adding that the state would  create an enabling environment for the successful implementation of the project.

‎In their remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Olufemi Oloruntola, and the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Barrister Akutar Ukiyama, who represented Alhaji Hamodu Yahaya commended Governor Seyi Makinde for what they described as a patriotic gesture.
