US-Brokered Gaza Peace Plan Gains Support from European and Middle Eastern Leaders
European and Middle Eastern leaders, have expressed support for a new United States-brokered peace proposal aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza, while President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Hamas to accept the deal or face consequences.
The plan, jointly announced by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calls for an immediate ceasefire, the release of twenty living Israeli hostages within seventy-two hours, and the return of the remains of more than two dozen others believed to be dead.
In exchange, Israel would release hundreds of detained Palestinians. The plan added that Hamas will have no role in governing Gaza, leaving the door open for an eventual Palestinian state, but, Netanyahu, later again ruled this out.
