Flamingos Eliminated from U-17 Women’s World Cup After 4–0 Loss to Italy.

Nigeria’s Under-seventeen women’s team, the Flamingos, were eliminated from the 2025 FIFA Under-seventeen Women’s World Cup in the Round of sixteen after a 4-0 defeat to Italy at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Salé, Morocco.

Italy’s goals came from Anna Copelli before halftime and second-half strikes by Caterina Venturelli, Giulia Robino, and Rachele Giudici, maintaining their unbeaten run.

The Flamingos had advanced as a third-placed Group D team with three points, but the Nigeria Football Federation faced criticism for posting the starting lineup twenty-one minutes into the match.
