The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has disclosed that twelve people were injured out of the five hundred and eighty-three passengers on board the Asham train that derailed in Abuja.
The Director General of the NSIB, Captain Alex Badeh, explained that an Investigator-in-Charge (IIC) has been appointed to lead the probe alongside relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Railway Corporation so as to be able to release the final report in twenty-three days from today.
Badeh dismissed claims that the trains were not in good condition and said the refund of the ticket fees had been initiated for all passengers on board.
