NNPC CEO GIVEN 3 WEEKS TO RESPOND TO 210 TRILLION NAIRA AUDIT
The Nigerian Senate has directed the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Bayo Ojulari, to respond within three weeks to audit queries relating to an alleged unaccounted sum of 210 trillion naira covering 2017 to 2023.
The instruction came from the Senate Committee on Public Accounts, chaired by Senator Ahmed Wadada (Nasarawa West), following a session with Ojulari.
Senator Wadada emphasized that the funds were neither missing nor stolen but remain unaccounted for in official documentation.
Ojulari, appearing before the committee for the first time since assuming office just over 100 days ago, apologized for his earlier absence from previous hearings. He also requested additional time to carefully review the 19 audit queries presented.
