SADIQ ENGAGES ALAVÉS TALKS AMID ALMERÍA COMEBACK BID
Nigerian forward Umar Sadiq is currently negotiating a summer transfer to Deportivo Alavés as the Basque club looks to strengthen its attacking lineup following the departure of Joaquín Panichelli to Strasbourg.
The 27-year-old, who joined Real Sociedad in 2022 from Almería for 20 million euros, has faced challenges in regaining his form due to a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in September of that year. A subsequent six-month loan spell at Valencia proved beneficial, as Sadiq netted six goals and played a pivotal role in helping the club avoid relegation.
Meanwhile, his former club Almería has also expressed renewed interest in re-signing the striker ahead of the new season, adding another layer of competition for his signature.
As talks continue, both Deportivo Alavés and Almería aim to secure Sadiq’s services to bolster their offensive options moving forward.
