Retired Colonel Gbenga Adegbola Highlights Taxation as Key to Nigeria’s Economic Growth.

A Retired colonel of the Nigerian Army, Gbenga Adegbola, has ascertained that revenue mobilization through taxes is critical for financing infrastructure and achieving economic development in the country, stressing that the reforms under the renewed hope agenda are going up thereby ranking Nigeria in the list of World Bank of business index.

Adegbola who stated this on a current affairs program, Agenda, on Dominion broadcast, disclosed that Nigeria in years past gets its revenue from agriculture, stressing that with the establishment of colonial rule, the government generates its revenue from import and export revenue. He however, highlighted the importance of taxation for every country, emphasizing the growth of the federal Inland Revenue over the years.
