STRIKING NURSES SUSPEND INDUSTRIAL ACTION

The nationwide warning strike by the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives has been suspended, as announced by the Minister of Health, Ali Pate.

According to Pate, the suspension followed agreements that were reached between the government and the association’s leadership.

No official statement was given by union leaders after the meeting.

The strike, which was launched on July 29, had been called over unmet demands related to improved welfare, fair allowances, and better working conditions in federal health institutions.
