The President made this statement while receiving governors from the Northeast region at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

BPE Unveils Privatisation Plan Covering Oil, Aviation, and Agriculture Sectors

The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, Ayodeji Gbeleyi, has disclosed that ninety-one federal assets would be privatised as part of ongoing efforts to optimise public enterprises, attract investment, and boost efficiency across key sectors of the economy.

The DG disclosed this at a media briefing in Abuja. He stressed that the process will be handled carefully and sector by sector to protect national interests.

He stated that out of the ninety-one firms the government has earmarked for privatisation or commercialisation, sixteen are in the oil and gas sector, including refineries and depots, though he did not name them. He added that twelve operate in agriculture, twenty in aviation, and twenty-eight are in other public enterprises.

Governor Sule Raises Alarm Over Insecurity in Nasarawa Communities

Away from Oyo state, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has expressed concern over recent attacks in Doka and Kuduku communities, as well as rising cases of kidnapping in Lafia Local Government Area, stressing that the protection of lives must take priority over infrastructure projects.

Speaking at a security meeting with relevant agencies, Governor Sule noted that while his administration continues to invest in roads, schools, and clinics, such efforts would be meaningless if citizens are unsafe.

The Federal Government has introduced the full list of subjects in the newly introduced school curriculum.

The Special Assistant to the President on social media, Dada Olusegun, in a post on his X handle, displayed an unsigned and unmarked image said to contain the subjects for Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School.

The curriculum, which was unveiled by the Federal Government, introduces compulsory digital literacy and basic entrepreneurship at the JSS level, while programming, artificial intelligence, and new languages feature prominently at the SSS level.

Russia has already helped build four nuclear reactors in China and is building four more, and China needs a large amount of uranium and nuclear fuel for its ambitious plans, Likhachev said.

DR Congo Court Jails Ex-Justice Minister Mutamba Over Stolen Prison Funds

A top court in the Democratic Republic of Congo has sentenced former Justice Minister Constant Mutamba to three years of forced labor after convicting him of embezzling nineteen million dollars in public funds.

The money was intended for a prison construction project in the country’s north.

The court ruled that Mutamba acted with the intent of illicit enrichment and bypassed legal procedures.

Mutamba, who resigned in June, had pleaded not guilty. His lawyer, Joel Kitenge, called the verdict unjust.
